Description
IDARC is a powerful analysis tool for simulation earthquake response of
large
structural frames, including the rare capability of accurate analysis
of
reinforced concrete frames. Member inelasticity models appropriate for
concrete
and steel frames are available in IDARC, and these nonlinear models are
less common in commercial software developed for mechanical engineering
purposes. Thus, IDARC's features are well-suited for dynamic nonlinear
analyses in seismic settings of structural engineering.
Features
IDARC has a wide variety of features that make it an attractive tool
for
both researchers and practitioners in earthquake engineering.
IDARC's structural library includes many types of common structural
elements, e.g., beams, columns, shear-infilling panels, and these
elements include realistic implementations of member inelastic
response, e.g., hysteretic response for plastic hinges and pushover
capabilities. IDARC is also available in a form tuned for bridge
analysis, and so this family of software tools provides a broad set of
nonlinear analysis capabilities for structural engineers interested in
simulating seismic response of large frames.
Pricing and Software Metrics
- IDARC is free to IDARC users group members
- Software quality for IDARC is of Community grade
- Supported platforms include Windows NT, 2000, and XP, though
with appropriate compiler effort, the IDARC program can be run on other
platforms.
