Description
ANSYS is a very popular commerical finite-element toolkit that is based
on proven solid mechanics capabilities, with additional features that
facilitate modeling fluid, thermal, and electromagnetic response.
ANSYS also permits coupling these various physical principles in novel
analysis venues such as MEMS and fluid-solid interaction
analyses. The ANSYS finite-element toolkit interfaces with the
LS-DYNA explicit dynamics code, so that a full range of implicit and
explicit analysis capabilities are available to ANSYS
users. ANSYS also permits integration with other partner
applications to permit rapid problem setup and additional analysis or
domain modeling capabilities.
Features
ANSYS provides for many advanced finite-element techniques, including
both h- and p-element technology, an efficient suite of scalable
solution techniques that provide for sparse direct, parallel frontal,
and iterative solvers, robust contact/impact algorithms that are
required for many complex multibody and multicomponent analyses, and a
variety of nonlinear material models of interest to mechanical and
civil engineers, including an integrated concrete model that can be
utilized to simulate reinforced and prestressed concrete.
